Reasons To Book a Session in The Spring
Spring is about to be sprung! To heck with that groundhog who decided we needed six more weeks of winter. Even with some roller coaster weather, warmer days are just around the corner. Some of the most interesting photo shoots I’ve ever done have actually been in the spring, when the weather is a tick unpredictable. That should be an added bonus for why you would want to book a session with me in the spring. Here are a few more reasons to get your photos done when the flowers are blooming:
Heat is not your friend during a photoshoot. You don’t have to live in the deep south to experience extreme heat and humidity in the summer months. It can be extremely difficult to take photos in the summer simply because everyone is drenched in sweat. A good to avoid that? Book a spring shoot!
Horse hair EVERYWHERE. I know what you’re thinking, how can that be a good reason to book a shoot? I know that a slicked off horse is straight-up dreamy every time, but what about those fuzzies in the winter who legit look like a cotton ball? I don’t know about you, but some of my favorite times with my horses are when they’re covered in a ton of hair. I would LOVE to capture someone sluffing off a ton of winter hair. Just think how magical all that hair floating around in the golden hour could be!
Spring = green and flowers. Even if the green is only just beginning to show, there’s something absolutely magical about springtime. New life is literally blooming all around us. Just the thought of it makes me feel all warm and happy.
Early bird gets the worm. Have you ever seen Cheaper by the Dozen with Tim Martin? If not, here’s a quick synopsis of the scene I’m referring to: family man Tom Baker gathers his 12 kids in May to take their annual Christmas photo. Why, they ask with a ton of ‘tude? So we can get a discount at the printers! It’s a real thing. Just think, if you have photos done in the spring, then when October rolls around and you start thinking about Christmas your photos will be just hanging out waiting to be printed. You’re welcome.
There’s literally never a bad time to a photo shoot with your favorite equine pal. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Labor Day, Fourth of July, New Years, you get the picture (ha, punny!). Without a shadow of a doubt, we will have a blast no matter what time of year.
