Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, I offer payment plans because I know investing in these memories can feel like a big step. Your bond with your horse is priceless, and I want to make sure you don’t miss the chance to capture it. If a payment plan would help, just reach out—we’ll find an option that works for you!
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, an initial payment of $100 and a signed client agreement will secure your date. This payment will count toward your total and is non-refundable. My client agreement simply outlines what’s included in your session package, covers important details like rescheduling and copyrights, and ensures we’re on the same page about expectations.
Travel fees?
Travel fees may be included depending on distance, but we will discuss this prior to booking. Generally, for trips traveling outside of my general location (NW Arkansas) I charge a fee to cover travel expenses. Travel fee will be due at booking to reserve your date
How long until I receive my pictures?
Turn around is about 5 weeks. If you need your images rushed for a project, I have a small fee for that.
Will I get to see all of my pictures?
You’ll have access to your own online gallery where you can view all the pictures I took at the session. Depending on what session package you choose, you’ll get to select the number of images you would like me to edit.
Can I post my pictures on Social Media?
Yes of course you can! Credit is preferred but not required.
Can I print my pictures?
If you purchased the Platinum Package or a printing release, you can print outside of Mariah Farmer Photography. Otherwise, digitals are for sharing on social media or online and you can order your prints through your gallery.
What if I want more pictures?
No worries! You can purchase more images after your session.
Weather?
I will obsessively check the weather and keep you posted. If there is rainy weather we will have to postpone until we find a date that suits our schedules. No need to pay another deposit if we reschedule.
How many horses can I include in my session?
The Silver Package is ideal for one horse and rider pair. All other horse and rider packages can include multiple horses. Multiple horses for any equine portrait sessions will need a custom price figured.
What if my horse was naughty?
Re-shoots are rare and at my discretion. This is something we will go over when booking. So far…I have not met a horse I couldn’t work with. We can take short breaks and maybe sort out why your horse is antsy. Sometimes it’s as simple as needing to pee.
How do you do the Black Background sessions?
I don’t use studio lights or backdrops, just natural light and barn entryways. This photo shows the ideal setup: a shaded entryway and dark background with a simple/clean floor. Arena and barn entryways work best.
How do you do your turn out session?
The ideal conditions are a happy horse ready to show off, simple/uncluttered area to run, and lots of caffeine for the photoshop process. The overall style will kind of depend on light and the background. I will sort through all the pictures I took during the session finding the 4-6 best shots to edit and let the creative process unfold from there.
Will you help me plan my session?
Absolutely! I am here to be as hands on or off as you need. I love chatting with clients about their ideas and helping plan outfits. I’ll send you a welcome guide with some tips and trick but of course I am always a call away if you need more help. My goal is to make this as fun and stress free as possible so you can focus on loving your horse the day of the shoot.
